This week, the team at Hog Roast Melton Mowbray have been providing their first class service to another happy couple on their big day. With over two decades of experience in catering for weddings, we truly have seen it all. We’ve catered for couples in every setting, from big stately homes to small back gardens; from lavish town halls to simple registry offices; and from huge cathedrals to small chapels. This week’s wedding was a grand affair, with Greg and Ellie- the happy couple – pulling out all the stops. For their wedding, Greg and Ellie wanted silver service – everything from an array of exquisite canape dishes to a selection of scrumptious deserts. We spoke with them before their big day in order to go through the particulars. The wedding was to be held in a beautiful church in the city centre and there would be over 200 guests attending. Following the service, the festivities would move to the nearby function room where our team would be waiting. Once Greg and Ellie had chosen their menu, there was nothing left to do but wait for the big day to arrive.
Hours before guests began to arrive at the church, our team from Hog Roast Melton Mowbray were on site at the venue for the reception, butchering the hog and decorating the room. We slow cook all our meats and prepare all our food on site and from scratch, using only fresh ingredients. Our preparation is the key to our success, and sure enough by the time the church service had finished, and the guests had started to arrive, the smell of our Hog Roast was already wafting through the air, and our catering assistants and waiting staff were on hand with a selection of canapes and glasses of champagne.
Among the options for the canapes was the Pate Encroute and Wild Mushroom Bouchees, before a starter of Smoked Salmon was served to the tables. Mains of a Hog Roast or a Grilled Fillet of Beef were later served buffet style, in accompaniment of a seasonal veg medley and roasted new potatoes with a side of homemade onion gravy, before the desserts were served – Sticky Toffee Pudding or the Vacherins of Strawberries and Passionfruit cream.
After many hours of drinking and dancing, and once the wedding cake had been cut, the team from Hog Roast Melton Mowbray would tidy away their mess discreetly and leave the happy couple to enjoy their big day surrounded by friends and family. If you’re getting married in the future and want the day to be perfect, then give us a call. Remember, we’re the wedding experts.
