As a local business ourselves, here at Hog Roast Groby we love to give back to our own community and help other local businesses where possible. That’s why we always choose the very best local suppliers and like to build strong networks with other local businesses when possible so that we can offer our clients recommendations when required. When Lucy called us and asked us to provide some catering at the opening of her new store, we were eager to help out another local business and started planning our menu for the launch.
Lucy was a recent graduate and had managed to save up and purchase a shop in the town centre. She was actually an artist herself and wanted to use the shop to showcase local talent and so had secured funding from the council and already had plans to involve the local community and schools where possible in her upcoming projects. For the launch she had invited local people, governors and businesses and wanted the opportunity to start off on a high and so we were asked to help out to make sure the event was a success.
As people would be mingling and wandering about the store, we decided it would be best to provide some of our signature Hog Roast Groby rolls that the guests could eat as and when they wanted along with some bespoke canapes and a champagne reception to really make guests feel welcome. For the canapes we had Handmade Gourmet Sausage served with a Whole Grain Mustard Dip, Chicken Satay Skewers served with a Peanut Dip and Pate Encroute- Smooth Brussels Pate piped onto Crusty Garlic Croutons.
As the guests arrived our servers were working nonstop to ensure everyone always had a drink in hand and had access to all the food they wanted. The shop opening seemed to be a hit and so we left Lucy to it as we discreetly tidied away and looked forward to hearing of her blooming business in the future…
