Dinner party for five-a-side team Catered by Hog Roast Ashby de la Zouch

Having recently won a local tournament with a nice little cash prize, the five-a-side team known as Posties FC decided to hire another team of winners – the team at Hog Roast Ashby de la Zouch. The seven postman that make up Posties FC, decided they wanted to celebrate their victory with a wonderful Hog Roast dinner party, where they would also invite their wives and partners. We recommended the Southern Slow Roast Menu, as it comes with a choice of three different meats as well as a selection of sides.

Hog Roast Ashby de la ZouchDarren, the team captain was to be the host. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough room inside the house to set up a table for fourteen people. However Darren did have a rather spacious garden, and the weather was wonderful on the day of the event, so we set up a table outside. As our catering assistant helped set up the table, the chef set to work laying out the three separate meats to roast low and slow over the course of several hours. On the menu tonight was the BBQ Pork Butt, the Texan 24HR Beef Brisket and the Cajun Spice Whole Roast Chickens.

Guests arrived by 5PM, just as the sun was shining over the garden, and enjoyed a drink before dinner was served at half past. Accompanying the choice of meats – Skin On Southern Style Whole Baked Potatoes, Memphis Crunch Coleslaw, Mac and Cheese and a Seasonal Green Leaf Salad. There were also a couple of tasty sauces available, including the Jack Daniels Smokey Sweet BBQ Glaze or the – not for the faint hearted – Cajun Hot Pepper Sauce. The guests were silent as they ate, a testament to the cooking process we’ve spent years perfecting. When everybody was finished, and the team were reminiscing about their victory, our the catering assistant from our team at Hog Roast Ashby de la Zouch, cleared the plates for desserts, which were served moments later  – light and fluffy individual cheesecakes, set on a crumbly biscuit base.

The food was served onto real crockery and the guests ate using real cutlery. After our team from Hog Roast Ashby de la Zouch had tidied away their mess, they said goodbye to their guests and left them to enjoy their night.
