Many people across the country have come together to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. From the opulent royal procession to Westminster Abbey, to local street parties or simply enjoying a few nibbles and having a toast with family and friends watching it at home, people have found their own ways to mark the occasion.
When there is an occasion worth celebrating in the Surrey area, Hog Roast Northolt are never far away! We were very much in the thick of things over the Coronation weekend catering for some great get togethers, all of which were an absolute a pleasure to be a part of. One that particularly stood out for us was the event we catered for at Home of Compassion.
A grand grade two listed building offering retirement and assisted living facilities overlooking the Thames was the setting for a wonderful Coronation celebration that Hog Roast Northolt were asked to cater for on 7th May. The event organiser Jozef asked Catering Manager Darren and co to provide a classic hog roast centrepiece, along with roasted vegetable and halloumi skewers as the veggie option, and regular and gluten free bread rolls, all served with handy disposable plates and cutlery.
We had 100 diners to feed, which included residents and members of their families, at 12 noon sharp and we certainly didn’t disappoint. Darren prepared and carved our epic hog roast on the terrace of the lovely landscaped gardens of the grounds, with both indoor and outside seating available to our diners, so they could enjoy the mild weather and tranquil outdoor space if they wished. With bunting galore everywhere, our team served up lunch– all the while having a life-size cardboard cut-out of the King himself watching over the proceedings!
The residents and guests gathered together to tuck into a lovely hog roast lunch and raise a glass to toast the Coronation of King Charles III as well as celebrating with a Pearly King and Queen, a Coronation memorabilia raffle and a bit of live musical entertainment.
It was a great day for the House of Compassion residents and Hog Roast Northolt were glad to be a part of it!
