They always say that if you love what you do then you won’t work a single day in your life. Sometimes that feels absolutely true here at Hog Roast Wilmington. This job gifts us the privilege of working during some incredible life moments for others. You get to see and share in all sorts of happy moments with others, and even help to shape some of those moments too.
Then there is the joy of walking into the Hog Roast Wilmington office each day and seeing the entire team. Everyone here is incredible to work with and helps make the overall experience of each working day all the warmer. And then, of course, there is the act of our catering itself, which at Christmas time is somehow even more of a joy than it is all year round!
And that is because we have the festive spirit to spur us on as we cater. Sometimes that festive spirit comes to us in the form of the decorations at the venues we arrive, sometimes it is the very foods we are cooking as we dish up our very special festive menu of classic Christmas foods. But the very best conjurer of the festive spirit, the thing that really gets our chef and serving team going on an event day, is the range of Christmas tunes that we can’t help but belt along with as we work.
On a given event during this time of year, it won’t be a rare sight to see the Hog Roast Wilmington team getting into the festive swing of things while singing along to some Mariah Carey, or swaying side to side as we prep and cook our hog roast whole The Pogues play, or Wham!, Slade, Band Aid, or even a touch of the Bublé from time to time, too. Cooking just comes even better when you’ve got some excellent Christmas tunes to dance and sing along too. And we may not be able to scientifically prove it, but we reckon it makes our hog roast somehow taste even better as well!
If you catch the Hog Roast Wilmington team enjoying their dose of Christmas music at your next event, do feel free to join in – it’ll probably make your roast taste that touch more magic!
