Lennie and Rosa contacted Hog Roast Isleworth some time ago, with regards their wedding day feast. They were planning an informal affair, with a main course of scrumptious pigs in buns followed by their wedding cake as dessert but they were concerned about needing a vegetarian option too. This is never an issue for us, as we have spent years catering all kinds of special diets, so we let the couple know about all of our various possibilities and they asked us to cook our tasty veggie skewers on the day too. With halloumi cheese, baby tomatoes, yellow and red peppers, mushrooms, courgette and red onion, our skewers are loved by vegetarians as much as our hog roast rolls are love by carnivores!
On the morning of Lennie and Rosa’s wedding, our Hog Roast Isleworth chef and assistants arrived at the venue, which was a lovely, large bed and breakfast where the wedding party were staying. We set up our equipment outside in the grounds, and before long our gazebo and serving tables were up, and the hog roast machine was ready to cook the beast of a hog that we’d brought with us. We were cooking the local pig for 70 guests and grilling the skewers for 3 of the guests but the first job we had was preparing the meat to be roasted, as it takes several hours to cook to perfection.
Before too long, after prepping the meat by scoring it all over, adding lots of water and then massaging in plenty of salt, the hog was sizzling away slowly in its own juices and our chef kept a watchful eye on it, to ensure it cooked all over, inside and out.
By 2pm, the skewers were grilling, the meat was resting and we were busy preparing the pigs in buns ingredients including our homemade duo of stuffing and apple sauce. Hog Roast Isleworth is always proud to do a great job, regardless of the formality of the event we are catering, and it was no different on this day, and by 2.30pm, the guests began to queue up for heaven in a bun or heaven on a stick!
