In the recent weeks, the team at Hog Roast Spelthorne were contacted by Amanda, the head teacher of a local primary school. She told us that the marvellous students at her school had been firing on all cylinders recently, with record levels of attendance, and victory in a number of different sporting and academic competitions. Amanda was so proud of her school and all they’d achieved, that she decided it was time to treat the students and staff to a wonderful Hog Roast.
It was a big task for the team at Hog Roast Spelthorne, who would have well over four hundred mouths to feed across the year groups. Not only that, but Amanda wanted a menu that would appeal to a wide array of tastes to make sure everybody would find something that they liked. We suggested our Southern Slow Roast Menu, which is packed full of variety. Amanda agreed and selected three different choices of meat, along with plenty of sides and sauces. Once everything was arranged, there was nothing left to do but wait for the big day to arrive.
Our team were on site at the Primary school, for seven o’clock in the morning, when only the caretakers were in, and well before the students were due to arrive. As we prepare all of our food on site from scratch, using only fresh raw ingredients, and slow cook all our meats to perfection, we always arrive nice and early to ensure that everything is ready for the serving time, which today was twelve o’clock. Once the students had arrived, the teachers had a difficult job keeping the surprise to themselves, as the smell of our wonderful meats was wafting through the air. But it was soon twelve noon, and time to serve.
On the menu for today, was our Southern Slow Roast, consisting of Texan 24HR Beef Brisket, Cajun Spiced Whole Roast Chickens and the BBQ Pork Butt. For sides we had the Memphis Style Crunchy Coleslaw, Greek Salad, Corn Cobbettes, Mac and Cheese, Cajun Spiced Sweet Potato Wedges or the Skin On Southern Style Whole Baked Potatoes, all available with a selection of sauces, bread rolls and wraps, as well as Vegetarian option of a grilled veg and Halloumi wrap with Tzatziki Sauce.
It was a lovely day for the team at Hog Roast Spelthorne who enjoyed serving all the smiley children and Amanda thanked us for helping to reward all of her hardworking team.
